About The Role
The Opportunity:
Mantis Space is seeking a Technical Procurement Specialist to support purchasing operations across a fast-growing, highly technical organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that goods and services are procured efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with organizational needs.
You will manage day-to-day procurement workflows, including RFQs, purchase orders, vendor coordination, and invoice matching, while maintaining accurate records and supporting cross-functional teams. This role offers strong exposure to engineering, IT, finance, and operations, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment.

This role reports to the Business Operations Manager and works closely with engineering, IT, administrative, finance, and leadership teams.
What You’ll Do:
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination
- Create and manage requests for quotes (RFQs), purchase orders, and procurement documentation
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, order confirmations, and delivery updates
- Support purchasing needs across engineering, IT, administrative, facilities, and operations teams
- Track open orders and proactively follow up to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain accurate vendor records and procurement documentation within internal systems
Purchase Orders, Invoices & Transaction Management
- Match purchase orders with invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation
- Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval routing
- Code purchases to appropriate cost centers, accounts, projects, or departments
- Partner with finance and accounting to resolve discrepancies and payment issues
- Support month-end close activities related to procurement and accounts payable
Procurement Systems & Process Support
- Maintain procurement system data, including vendors, items, workflows, and approval paths
- Support internal users with purchasing requests, system navigation, and workflow questions
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, controls, and documentation
- Help streamline workflows to increase efficiency, visibility, and compliance
- Assist with reporting, purchasing analysis, and administrative support tasks
What You Bring:
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, finance operations, accounts payable, or related roles
- Experience creating purchase orders, tracking vendor orders, and supporting invoice/payment workflows
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and documentation
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, operations, and finance teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of initiative, accountability, and follow-through
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an R&D, engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, or technical environment
- Familiarity with procurement systems, ERP platforms, or accounts payable tools
- Experience coding transactions to chart of accounts, cost centers, or project codes
- Exposure to vendor onboarding, procurement approvals, or contract documentation
- Familiarity with technical purchasing categories (IT, engineering, facilities, etc.)
- Experience supporting process improvements or system configuration in a growing organization
